Registered under the Utah Postsecondary Proprietary School Act, Title 13, Chapter 34, Utah Code.
DESCRIPTION OF BOND: The Division of Consumer Protection by the State of Utah’s requirement for USPG to obtain a surety bond U.C.A. and 13-34-107 has been met. The surety bond amount has been determined by the projected first year of the school’s gross tuition income and is in compliance at $12,500.00.

The following pages contain information on registration and requirements to sign up for a training class or one of our career courses. These are the how to steps to register for a class or become a graduate of Utah School of Pet Grooming. TERMS OF PAYMENT:
Cash, Cashier’s Check, Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express or other financing the student obtains.
Tuition must be paid in full a minimum of 2 weeks before class starts.
There will be a 3% convenience charge assessed for the use of a credit card for tuition payments.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES:
Prior grooming industry experience is not necessary. Utah School of Pet Grooming does not discriminate against race, gender, age or religion. There is physical work involved with this trade and it may cause a restriction to those who have physical handicaps or limitations. Class start dates are subject to change.

- The interview and tour are truly the best way to get a feel for what we have to offer at Utah School of Pet Grooming. During the interview you will sit down with the administrator to discuss the programs we have to offer, take a personal tour of the facility and meet our staff.
- Complete and return the Registration for the class or course you’re interested in.
Students are asked to bring their driver’s license (or other photo ID)
OPTIONAL: social security card, proof of high school graduation or GED, post-secondary diploma or
transcripts.

Career Courses
Career Course #1: DOG
PSYCHOLOGY & BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION COURSE is $445 total.
$50 (non-refundable) due at the time of registration to hold your spot.
The remainder must be paid 2 weeks prior to beginning the course.

BRUSH & GROOMING ASSISTANT COURSE is $1195 total.
$150 (non-refundable) due at the time of registration to hold your spot.

CERTIFICATE COURSE is $2,950 total.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR AND CLASS START DATES
Class start on the first Wednesday of the month as space is available, except for the holidays listed below.
HOLIDAYS: The Utah School of Pet Grooming observes the following holidays and is closed:

Christmas & New Years: December 20th thru January 2nd
Easter: Weekend Friday thru Sunday
SCHOOL HOURS FOR PET STYLING PROGRAM
Tuesday-Friday 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Saturday 9:00 A.M until 5:00 P.M. With a mid-break time of 20 minutes for each day.
**These times may vary due to the nature of the pet grooming industry, as pets need to be done on time. The student needs to understand the time constraints of the field they are entering. *** The program is Linear. Each hour = 55 minutes.
Part time student of the Pet Styling Program will attend 4 hours a day 5 days a week and should complete the course within 16 weeks. (In special circumstances there may be the flexibility of an extension of time with written approval by the instructor on an individual basis. Students are required to attend a minimum of 15 hours per week. The same course work applies and is dependent on how many hours a week the student attends as to the completion time.)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS IN THE PET STYLING INDUSTRY
When working as a pet stylist, bather and receptionist or in any other position in the pet grooming industry requires an enormous amount of patience and committed safety to the pet and stylist. Therefore, the student must be physically and mentally prepared to work with sharp instruments and accept helpful criticism. A student will be on their feet 90-100% of the day and will be required to lift dogs. STUDENT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WORKMAN’S COMP OR ANY OTHER COMPENSATION FOR INJURIES OCCURRED DURING SCHOOL HOURS OR ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. You are possibly lifting a maximum weight of up to forty pounds as well as standing for long periods of time.
JOB PLACEMENT AND ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Utah School of Pet Grooming offers placement assistance in order to help students find work in the pet grooming field. Utah School of Pet Grooming maintains a file of Pet Grooming shops that are seeking positions to fill. The school will also refer students to employers who may have contacted the school seeking to hire graduates.
